Want to get out more, but don’t know where to start? Want to meet new people?
Why not join one of our walking groups?
Discover new walks and places around Edinburgh. Walking is the path to better health.
We have two friendly walking groups for anyone – FREE! We use public transport to access walks around Edinburgh so bring your bus fare or bus pass. Walks take around an hour, often finishing at a nearby café.
To find out more, get in touch with us or check out our Facebook page.

“It’s fun, I get out in the fresh air and have made friends. There’s no pressure to walk fast or slow” – Nick
“I’ve lived in Edinburgh for years but through the walking group I’ve seen places I’ve not been before” – Loraine
“The walks are the best part of my week, especially when they finish in the café with a cup of tea!” – Jean
“I really look forward to the walks, they really improve my mood” – Caroline
Pilton Community Health Project has also produced two booklets of walks in the local area, entitled North Edinburgh’s Hidden Gems.
All the routes have been tried and tested by PCHP’s award-winning walking volunteers. The booklets contain information on sights you will see and places of interest you will pass on the way. They also give estimated times and accessibility information.
Download the booklets here or pop into PCHP to pick up a physical copy (while stocks last)!
