We are keen to work with volunteers at the Health Project. In 2016 we renewed our commitment to making sure volunteering with us is a fun and rewarding experience by achieving the Investing in Volunteers standard.

Volunteers in the Project take on a wide range of roles – including leading walking groups, working with our cooking groups and food outreach sessions, engaging with other local community members through events and meetings and much more. We try to match volunteering roles with what each volunteer wants to achieve, so many are taking forward their own ideas.

All volunteers in the Project can expect to receive reasonable expenses, regular support and opportunities to develop their skills and confidence.

We are particularly interested in recruiting for the specific volunteer roles listed below, but do get in touch if you have any other ideas about how we can work together.

Do you want to be part of a friendly and energetic team? Could you help organise events and activities? These could include store collections, bucket shakes, pub quizzes, raffles, tea parties, or anything else you think would be a fun way to fundraise in your community. Our Fundraising Volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring the future work of PCHP.

Living in Harmony

The Living in Harmony Action Research volunteers did an amazing job putting together this piece of research on the experiences of local people from minority ethnic backgrounds when accessing services in North Edinburgh. Now we’re in the process of deciding what to do next.

If you want to help take this forward get in touch with Rosa at PCHP (Living in Harmony Development Worker). It would be great to hear from you and work together to make a difference!

Board of Directors

We are looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors.

We are particularly keen to get local people who have knowledge of the needs of the communities we work with, and who are willing to give some time to help PCHP set its strategic direction and ensure strong management and values.

Reception Cover

We are looking for volunteers to provide part-time reception cover.

If you have some people skills and time to help us cover reception, please contact us. You might be a retired administrator or receptionist looking to give something back to your community, or currently out of work but looking to keep your skills and experience live or just wanting to do something useful.
