Fairer, Healthier Scotland?

You may be aware that we organised 3 discussion sessions to discuss what a Fairer, Healthier would look like, in response to Scottish Government initiated consultation.  Many thanks to all that attended the meetings.  There was good healthy debate and we recorded what you told us. 

Equalities and Diversity Training

•Understand and discuss the fundamental aspects of the Equality Act 2010? And be able examine your responsibilities relating to it?
•Increase your understanding of issues facing minority ethnic groups in the area?
•Learn how to talk about controversial issues and dispel the myths about immigration ?

Fairer Scotland?

The Scottish Government want to know what we think would make Scotland Fairer and Healthier.  Like many other organisations in the area we want to hear what you have to say so we can pass it on to them.  To this end we are organising two discussion sessions.

The first will take place at Muirhouse Community Centre on Thursday 15th Ocotber from 7 till 9 pm.  Free refreshments.

The Scottish Government are asking people to tell them how to make Scotland a Fairer and Healthier place.  They are developing a vision and plan for a better Scotland by 2030.  You can read more and contribute via these blog sites.

Food and your Body

These NEW information sheets will help you eat well.

Designed to cover 6 different body systems, each sheet gives a brief introduction to a specific area of the body, along with lots of helpful information on foods that can help to keep these areas healthy and working well.

On the reverse of each resource sheet is a healthy recipe that makes use of the foods and ingredients that are of particular benefit to that body system
